The Styled Challenge by Southern Bride presents the Omni Grove Park Inn, Asheville, NC
designed by
Some venues offer a view. The Omni Grove Park Inn delivers so much more: a dramatic waterfall, a sweeping stone terrace, and a panorama of the Blue Ridge Mountains that feels almost cinematic. For this styled shoot, Wedding Connections made the most of every element, layering in a vintage trolley, an artful ice sculpture, and a velvet marigold sofa that set the tone for an unforgettable celebration.
The designer orchestrated one of the day’s most delightful surprises: the arrival of a vintage Gray Line trolley. The couple made their entrance in style, stepping onto the terrace as the bride leaned from an open window, bouquet in hand—a picture-perfect moment that guests would remember long after the celebration ended. A vintage trolley provides a built-in photo moment.

On the terrace, the designer forwent a traditional arch, allowing the natural beauty of the setting to shine. Instead, she envisioned tall, wild floral installations that seemed to grow organically from the stone wall, cascading down into abundant clusters at its base and nestling smaller blooms beside the aisle chairs. Grove Florals blended garden roses, hydrangea, and ranunculus in soft blush, butter yellow, and apricot, creating the illusion of a spontaneous garden in full bloom. Beyond it all, the mountains became a breathtaking, unspoiled backdrop.

Inside the pavilion, sunlight streamed through glass walls and danced across stone columns, creating a luminous setting for the reception. The designer curated an atmosphere of understated elegance with bentwood cane-back chairs, pale striped linens, and soft mint cloths provided by Professional Party Rentals. Tabletops glowed with amber glass goblets and cut-crystal coupes, accented by gold flatware, olive napkins, and the warm glow of pleated-shade lamps. Grove Florals artfully arranged low, airy centerpieces of garden roses and spidery pink nerine lilies in delicate bud vases, ensuring guests could connect easily across the table.

The cake, crafted by the Omni Grove Park Inn, was a showpiece: three tiers of pristine white, each with its own distinct finish—sleek and smooth on top, delicately textured in the middle, and artfully ruffled at the base. The designer placed it before green lattice screens draped in climbing roses, beside a monogrammed ice sculpture from Ice Mill that glittered in the afternoon sunlight. Together, the display became a focal point that blended artistry, florals, and shimmering light.

Set against the gentle rush of the rock waterfall, the designer curated an inviting lounge vignette that beckoned guests to relax and savor the view. A scalloped marigold sofa and a fringed mustard umbrella offered a playful pop of color, while a mint-draped cocktail table set with sparkling wine added a celebratory touch. Silver urns overflowed with roses, tying the scene together and turning the terrace into a haven for conversation and connection.
