It was almost three months until the wedding of their dreams when COVID-19 hit. In light of the newly declared global pandemic and social distancing guidelines, Lauren and Parker quickly realized that their 350+ person nuptials could not take place as planned. Along with their families, the couple put their heads together to consider new options – anything and everything was on the table.

Wanting to celebrate with family and friends present but still honor their original wedding date, Lauren and Parker finally decided to say “I Do” in a small ceremony on June 14th, 2020 and postpone the bigger version they initially planned to June 2021.

As they discussed their new ceremony, it dawned on them how meaningful it would be to tie the knot in the exact spot Parker proposed to Lauren, in their backyard. They chose to get married in front of their immediate families and live stream it for their grandmothers, aunts, uncles, and cousins. The wedding party would consist of their Goldendoodle, Tucker.

Then came the rush of preparing. With the date quickly approaching, Lauren and Parker sought to make this intimate ceremony unique while ensuring that next year’s affair with all of their family and friends still remained special.

Lauren and Parker met with their wedding planner, Sheril Greenstein of Shindigs by Sheril, and Holliday Flowers and Events to discuss rentals, layout, and florals. They contacted their photographer, videographer, and caterer, and luckily everyone was available and on board for the re-vamped big day.

Choosing to wait to wear her gown at the ceremony next summer, Lauren found a simple and elegant white dress online. Parker wore his favorite suit. Lauren’s aunt, Suzy Boshwit of SuzyB Jewelry, provided her with beautiful accessories to compliment her new dress.

Though Lauren never envisioned having her hair done outside (while wearing a mask) and putting on her own makeup, everything turned out perfectly, including the weather. After their first look and exhanging vows, the couple and their families enjoyed an outdoor dinner.

As Lauren and Parker look back and reflect, they both agree they could not have asked for a more meaningful wedding day. They cannot wait to do it again next year and celebrate with their family and friends!
